Brussel sprouts on the Stalk

Brussel sprouts on the Stalk

I’m not in love with Brussel Sprout want but last time when I was shopping in Publix, this beautiful little buds on stalk grabbed my eyes which I’ve never seen them in Canada. Now I share with you how You can cook it in deferent way.

Brussel Sprouts usually come in stores as individuals buds, or on stalk, but it also has some big leaves on the top of each stem that looks like collard.

The buds are typically cooked by boiling, steaming, stir frying, grilling, slow cooking or roasting, but cooking them in the oven gives them a crunch and a char. The best part of these are those charred pieces!

The Brussel sprout stalk is very beautiful on your table as side dish for steaks or pasta and it is also a perfect addition to your holiday spread.

The whole stalk takes around 40 minutes on 425f in the oven to cook, but I came up with easier and faster way, if you don’t want to run the oven for 40 minutes.

Ingredients

Brussel Sprouts ……………………………………1 stalk

Parmesan Cheese…………………………………4 tbsp

Olive oil………………………………………………3 tbsp

garlic powder………………………………………1/2 tsp

lime or sour orange juice……….…………….2 tbsp

Salt & pepper……………………………………..to taste

How to make

  • Bring water to boil with a spoon of salt and lime in a big pot.
  • Put the washed stalk in that and cook half way. If the stalk doesn’t fit in the pot, you need to flip it in the middle of cooking.
  • In a bowl mix olive oil, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, lime, salt and pepper and drizzle all the buds with the mix.

  • Bake in the oven on 425f for 15 minutes. ( flip it around that all buds get crispy)
